Rare Messmore & Damon Transportation Display {Dewitt Clinton Train,Carriage,Ship,Auto}

Perhaps one of the best finds we had in our 48 year history. Rare Messmore & Damon transportation display found in a storage trailer, never seeing the light of day for almost 40 years. Messmore & Damon were famous for making larger than life animated mechanical figures and zoo animals but did manufacture static displays for amusement parks and museums. This display, (see pictures below) was stored away after being on display up until 1980 when the focus changed and interest dropped. Heat and cold weather have taken its toll on  several of the backdrops but nothing a clever folk art person or restorer could not handle. Figures, train, boat and carriages are in fairly good condition needing minimal restoration. Train is an exact replica of the famous Dewitt Clinton. The pictures below tell the story of the massive size of this display.  Being sold in as found condition needing a talented individual to bring her back to her “Glory Days” depicting the historical significance of this museum quality piece.
